The Best Little Rabbit, Rodent & Ferret House is a non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to:

  • The rescue and then adoption of ferrets who have lost their home, through no fault of their own.
  • The education of persons interested in sharing their homes with a ferret.

We provide veterinary care for our rescued ferrets; such as adrenal surgeries, teeth cleaning, vaccinations and of course spay/neuter. We also micro-chip our ferrets.

We try to find them permanent homes with caring individuals, who will provide them with an excellent diet, exercise, vet care when necessary and plenty of love and attention. As a no-kill shelter, if a ferret is not adopted, we attempt to locate a foster care situation for them or will continue to house them at our shelter for the remainder of their lives.

If you are interested in adopting one of our ferrets, you must come in to our shelter to meet us and the ferret you are interested in. Initial home visit.

A - Kaluah A - Kaluah

Kaluah is a bright white silver with black eyes. Kaluah is a very active, playful little girl who gets along well with other ferrets. She plays a little rough, so she'd do best with experienced ferret people.
Born approx. 07/00
Micro. 096

B - Oscar

Oscar is a Champagne-colored male. He is a beautiful, friendly little guy with a very cute snaggletooth. When introduced to new ferrets he can be a bit of a bully. Oscar with Telea are good friends and must be adopted or fostered together.
Born approx. 2/01
Micro. 594

B - Oscar

B - Telea B - Telea

Telea is a playful dark-eyed-white ferret. Telea loves gnawing on shoes and will bite bare toes so watch your feet! She is a very nice girl, although she will bite when playing with your hands, so use a stuffed animal when playing with her. Telea and Oscar are a bonded pair and can be fostered or adopted.
Born approx. 12/01
Micro. 027

Bruce Banner

Bruce is a male ferret born appx. March 2004. He's a gentle guy, who has played well with kids. He's on pred for insulonoma. And is doing very well.

uA - Tamzy & Teaka uA - Tamzy & Teaka

Tamzy (left) & Teaka (right). Are two incredibly playful, fun to watch sisters. They both get along well with other ferrets. Mistreated in their youth, they are both fairly bad biters and do not trust humans right away.
Tamzy and Teaka have shown that with patience and care, they will learn to trust a human and not bite them, but it takes an experienced ferret person to take the time to form this kind of relationship with them. If you are such a person (with no kids in the house) this pair may be perfect for you. Tamzy and Teaka would love to find an adopted or foster home with the right human friend :)
Born 10/02
Micro. Tamzy 534, Teaka 109

Wild Weasels

NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! These are photos of wild weasels, who were turned into a shelter as "baby ferrets". Every year we receive numerous calls from individuals who insist that these wild animals are ferrets. Please take a close look at these weasels. Don't interact with them, they are wild animals, and can be quite nasty!
